Sonny Hill Review

Here is a corrected and polished version of your story. I cleaned up the spelling, grammar, and run-on sentences while preserving your voice, the exact details, and the genuine, heartfelt emotion of your experience. On June 16, 2012, I came home on leave from a five-year deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. I drove my 2002 Chevy Trailblazer 700 miles home from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, only to find my soon-to-be wife in bed with another man. Then, on June 22, 2012, my Trailblazer lost second gear and reverse. I took it to AAMCO, and the technician there told me it would cost about $3,000 to repair. However, when I went to withdraw the money from the bank, I discovered that all of my funds had been wiped out—I was left with just $23.89. Feeling defeated, I called Danco Transmission a little after 5:00 PM that Friday and spoke to Jason. I explained over the phone what had happened, and he told me to bring the car in on Monday morning so they could see what was wrong. Today, June 25th, I brought my car in just after 10:00 AM. I was met by a technician who had already been filled in on my situation and knew I was coming. After such a crappy week, I soon found myself smiling; though I forgot his name, he greeted me with a warm smile as if we had known each other for years. We took a quick test drive, and he immediately diagnosed the issue. When we got back to the shop, Jason was there to talk business. He gave me a ballpark estimate of $2,800 but explained they needed to tear down the transmission to know the exact total. I made a few phone calls and managed to get the money sorted out. Remarkably, they put my car ahead of the others already waiting to be torn down. Since I had been sleeping in my vehicle, Jason even gave me a ride to meet up with a friend so I'd have a place to stay tonight while the car was in the shop. When I called at 4:30 PM to get the final price for the repair, the guys at Danco already had my transmission out, nearly fixed, and ready to be reinstalled. That was only a seven-hour turnaround! They absolutely busted their butts to help me get back on the road so I could return to base, where I am scheduled to be redeployed on June 27, 2012. I cannot thank the guys at Danco enough for their hard work and for getting me on my way so fast. I highly recommend them. They are truly the most helpful and friendliest people I have met stateside during my entire time home. So Jason, thank you very much for everything you did for me and for the laughs—I really needed them. I will definitely be stopping back by to see you guys the next time I'm home. Thanks again for everything, man!
